@basic meme he means how Edmonton played super good in the second half of the regular season, going 29-6-3 in the rest of their games under their new coach (hottest team in the NHL at the time), and obviously went on to the final four. The Maple Leafs were also looking a a cup contender this year but of course they had to be matched up against the back to back champs. Avs and Panthers kind of speak for themselves.

What's also cool about Palát is that he played mostly under one coach his entire NHL career, even in an AHL. That coach is obviously Jon Cooper and i think it was also him who saw 'something' in Palát back in 2011-12 and gave him a chance to grow.

@PP1 Palat is the engine and defense behind a great lines that Tampa has had since 2015 (triplets line, etc). The whole “tax-free” thing gets blown out of proportion. It helps, but a bigger factor is how’s great Tampa market is, and the franchise is one of the best in all of sports! Those are bigger factors imo

Don’t underestimate his desire to stay in Tampa and keep playing with Kuch, Stammer, Heddy, Pointer, etc. Tampa also is state tax free and warm weather climate. He might not want to end up somewhere like Winnipeg 😂

1st goal was terrible technical mistake by vasy ... the rebound was 100% his fault he didn't do the butterfly and gave it to Avs... his numbers in the final and his weakness blocker side are other elements !

Well one thing to add which is crucial there was 3 missed calls that were obvious to ANYONE who has played the game and it should of been called 100%, but those are not the reason they lost it just influenced the game. Makar being hooked almost on a break 100% obvious and no call, the intereference on Kadri ( officials don't like him so will be no call) and there was a trip that happened ( i forgot on who) after Makar got called for a incidental trip that was EXACTLY the same. Those are points you should add to your paragraphs

@Kasper they most certainly count, the first year was a suspended season that resulted in a round robin that gave a higher level playoff field than normal, the second year was just a delayed start but still had the same requirement of winning 16 games to win it all. I am not sure what you're getting at...they made the cup finals in 2015 and lost to a more seasoned blackhawks team, they won the presidents trophy in 2018-2019 season, lost conference finals to pittsburgh in 2016 and washington in 2018. They have been one of the best teams of the decade in terms of wins and playoff depth
