This Loki is from a different timeline, from when he escaped with the stone. So technically, he's dead, but this is supposed to be what happened BEFORE he came back and was then killed. Basically, his adventures away from home and the main plot of the story (while the rest of the superheroes are tying to beat the purple man (Thanos)). It sure is a shame, though- he was one of my favorite characters, for his wit, snarkiness, rebellious streak, and how unpredictable he was.

@Name Falcon and the Winter Soldier is literally all about how John Walker doesn't deserve to be Captain America and how you can't just give the role to some new person. That's literally the whole point of the show. At the end, Sam Wilson will end up as Captain America. It's all in the comics, man. also, I honestly think that while WandaVision's creative storytelling methods were a breath of fresh air, I think that so far Falcon and the Winter Soldier has the most solid storytelling, especially regarding the last episode of WandaVision which I really didn't like because the action felt very generic with just throwing blobs of light at each other, the conclusion felt very rushed and it felt like Wanda, Vision, and Agatha's arcs just kind of ended very abruptly with an extremely rushed resolution. I learned recently that apparently, there were originally intended to be 10 episodes, and all that last episode stuff was supposed to be two episodes, not one, which is why the ending was so weird. Otherwise I loved everything about WandaVision, especially episode 8, except for the fact that they did a whole lot of spelling out stuff really really clearly that was already strongly implied from the beginning, which made it feel like the audience was being talked down to, like the stuff with the runes, or Agatha explaining how Wanda feels about every single thing we see her experience in the flashbacks. Like, I know what's going on, I'm looking at it. I don't need Agatha to repeat out loud everything we just saw.

@Tony Stark In theory, it's possible there is a universe where Tony gets knocked over by the Hulk but Loki doesn't steal the Tesseract: whether he willingly chose not to or whether the Tesseract even fell within his reach. We can't really assume what was or was not cause for a nexus event under the TVA's guidelines, other than Loki's actions alone in stealing the Tesseract when given the opportunity to do so. It's possible that literally any variant Loki could have been the cause for "an entire TV show". No one can really say. If anything, Mobius is really the reason we have a TV show. Standard procedure would have called for Loki's immediate pruning, but Mobius decided to do something unorthodox and literally recruited the variant. In fact, it's just as possible that Loki has stolen the Tesseract countless times already over and over in the same timeline with the TVA showing up to prune it each time.
